John Adlard - Team member

John Adlard is a 57 year old Quantity Surveyor . He started Ribbing at 21 when he was a keen sub aqua diver, using a 4metre Avon Searider and later graduating to the 5.40 metre model, a Tornado.

A Humber followed those boats, and now John has Oceandevil. Oceandevil is a 8.10 metre Scorpion with a Yanmar inboard diesel motor which he totally rebuilt.

In his early years John raced a Mini Cooper “S”, so when the opportunity arose to complete a RIB race he jumped at the chance and entered the Lymington Challenge RIB Race. A second place in class was the result, and John now has the racing bug.

John had been looking at the 2010 Rib Rally with a wish to participate with a larger boat, and is very pleased to be invited to crew with Chris Strickland on “Seahound”.
